Computer randomly shutdown won't turn back on

Go to solution Solved by Pony080905,

Is it the power button?

Looks like a power supply problem.

i put a different psu in it, it hasn't shutdown yet, I put its psu in a different computer and the computer didn't have any problems

I was playing sniper elite v2 and my PC just shut down, when my PC loses power like in a power outage it will try to turn back on, it does that here and shuts back down, when it shuts down a little red led lights up and doesn't turn off

I will post a video of what it does.

I will post a second video showing it doing something slightly different to what it did in the first video as soon as it's done up loading to youtube

PC specs? what does the light indicate.. read your Mobo user manual.

specs are on my profile, my motherboard Manual says nothing about the led, the led is right beside the battery on the board and it lights up when my computer turns on then shut off when the PC is running

It's not the power button, I'll try using a different pay tomorrow, it's 11pm where I live

I'm glad you're getting somewhere.

Not all PSU's are equal. Maybe you had too many things on a single rail.

For instance (not saying in your case) one PSU has (random number) 70AMPs total, but those 70 amps are spread across 4 rails. Giving you 17.5 amps (again random number) on each rail. You could have overloaded one of those. It's normally the rail for the GPU.

Other PSUs are single rail (I find them to be the best). You'll have nearly all 70 amps on that one rail.

So if this PSU is working, and the problem is gone then I would advice to either,

Keep your new config and let the problem disappear into the past or,

see what the difference's between the PSUs are to find out what caused the problem and decide if you want to buy a new one. A better one.

It's not a race to the bottom.

i can't use the second psu because the country power connector isn't long enough, I'm planning to get a new psu, the second one I used was a diablotek also a cheap brand

I read "Diablotek" as "Diabolic". That gave laughs.

Don't cheap out on PSUs. It's not worth the hassle or risk.
