Does anyone have an idea of how to air cool my router? It gets really hot and I feel like that's the cause of it randomly slowing down....

I was thinking of somehow strapping a case fan to the bottom. Not sure how i'd power it though

I posted a picture of how I did it to mine on here but I cant find the pic on my computer.  I found the cable in one of those usb powered laptop coolers but you could rig something up

edit: scroll down, mine is the picture of the fan NOT the watercooler haha

Normaly they don't overheat. Are you sure no vent slot is covered by something? Also try to place the router in a way that there are vent slots on the "bottom" side and the "top" side to increase natural convection.

Getting cheap laptop cooler pad will be the easiest and most space demanding solution. There are adapters for DC to fan power/molex/sata. That is the other option. Wouldn't get usb->fan adapter as it won't be powerful enough.

5v is plenty to cool a router with most fans. I wouldnt use more than that because then youre just making excessive noise. Does not take much to cool that tiny box
