So pretty much im sick of having to switch between console and my VERY average pc to play games on, so ive decided to put together something that can do and play everything i want it too. these include things like skyrim (old i know but i still love it), witcher, payday, aswell as a little bit of recording of games like league of legends aswell, this is what ive got so far in terms of parts.

CPU - AMD FX 8320 black edition 3.5 ghz

CPU  cooler - Coolermaster HYper 212 EVO

 GPU  - XFX DD Radeon R9 290x 4gb

MOBO  - MSI 970A SLI Krait edition

 SSD  - samsung 850 EVO 120gb

 HDD  - WD Blue 1TB 6gb/s 7200rpm

RAM  - KIngston HyperX FURY (2x4gb) white

 PSU  - EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 80+ gold 650W Fully Modular

C ASE  - Enthoo Pro White

Also i live in australia and im getting this stuff off amazon for around the $1400-$1500 mark and shipping it over. so will there be any issues with shipping or psu compatability in aus?

..... What did I just see......

B85 chipset with a 4690k. Switch it to a z97 board... you can't overclock on a b85 board and it would need to be BIOS updated.

And the NEX series are bad. Change it to a GS/G2 model.

I can assure you unless you are not living in a very hot place you can barely hear the intel cooler at all. the hdd will be louder than the intel cooler.

Also do make sure you have decent case airflow. I have used it in an itx build before and aside from the initial "max speed" when you first boot the pc, its very very hard to hear.

You might be able to hear something ifyou run a stress test for a while. but on idle and typical loads, the other components are way noisier.

*do note that this recording is right up in there near the cpu with the mic gain turned up quite a bit :) in the enthoo pro, its quiet.

Also you might want to upgrade to this mobo if you plan to change to a "K" cpu later on, but honestly its not really worth the money with the pricing over there. And new cpu sockets are coming up in 1-2 years. Its fun, but not so much practical.

Some meaningful upgrade:

~20aud. i5-4590 with for faster comrpressions and conversions (nice to have, will feel faster if you are using alot of raw speed demanding apps, i do  xD)

~10aud. gigabyte windforce 290 because its quieter "lower piched whooosh" than the asus CU-II, (highly recommended if you hate noise.)

~15aud. 840evo(updated firmware) or 850evo for faster caching. (nice to have, but not game changing)

~10aud. case fan. noctua redux-1200 or arctic cooling 1200 or Gelid FN-SX12 (cheapest) to put in the rear. the enthoo pro comes with a 200mm front fan already.

some notes:

i5-4590 - Turbo frequency 3500 MHz (4 cores). 3600 MHz (3 cores) .3700 MHz (1 or 2 cores)

i5-4460 - Turbo frequency 3200 MHz (4 cores). 3300 MHz (3 cores). 3400 MHz (1 or 2 cores)

Asus DCUII ~42dB. 947mHz base clock.

Gigabyte Windforce 3x ~ 39dB. 1040mHz base clock.

Thanks a ton you've really helped me out. I'm going to go with your first build but with the upgraded processor probably , thanks for all your help :)
