Audio Issues with the HyperX Cloud

So, I had been using the HyperX Cloud happily for about 2-3 months when my microphone started failing. I figured I may have misused it in some way(I took it out frequently when I wasn't using it), couldn't find any replacements, so I just used my desktop mic. However, today, a month or two after the fact, my sound is borking REALLY bad. Different pitches of sound are really quiet and there's often a lot of distortion in audio. Now, know that I was watching SaltyBet not long before and my audio was perfectly fine. However, upon closing it, leaving it for a minute or two to go do something, coming back and trying to listen to music, it sounded like garbage.

Just to make sure it was the headset, I tried different sound testers, music playing media, tried messing with the extension cords, and plugged it into different devices. All the same result: it sounded like garbage. I have taken almost perfect care of the headphones imo; they've never been dropped, scratched, cords were never tugged(they're braided anyway), and I often checked if it was resting in some way that won't wear it as much when I was away. I have also noticed that if I can manage to slightly unplug the 3.5 mm jack, it regains some sound, but still kinda sounds garbage. The headphones are not warrantied and are past the return date, so any help would be very much appreciated. I'm open to giving any details to people wish to know. Thank you for reading.

If when you wiggle the plug around and the sound could get better, then it's the plug that's the culprit. Most probably bad/loose soldering. Solution is to do a recabling. Either just the plug (solder a new after market plug) or get a new cable entirely.

Also is the cable detachable from the headset? If so, might wanna check the plug at the headset's end.

No, it's not detachable. Is it really the plug? From most issues I've had with plugs on previous headsets, the issue either happened because of one serious trauma to the cable or it was something that happened over time, neither of which really happened here. It just kind of came from nowhere. I'm definitely not an expert on this though, so you're the judge.

I just don't want to chop up/replace a fully braided cable and then have that not even be the issue.
