Help me out here guys, so on my birthday, I'm going to be upgrading my laptop to 8 GB DDR3 from 2 GB DDR3 for some medium gaming and normal video editing for my YouTube Channel. Also, will this run Minecraft and Counter Strike smoothly ? and tell me how many fps plz.

CPU : Intel Dual Core N2840

Clocked at 2.58 Ghz

RAM : 8 GB DDR3

Harddisk : 500 GB

The 8 GB DDR3 upgrade will be around 50 dollars so yeah thats why I wanted to upgrade

Do you have a dedicated GPU chip in your laptop or you're using the Intel HD ?

No GPU tho, on my desktop, I get around 100 fps with 4 gb ram. So that means my laptop that will be upgraded to 8 GB Ram, can get more than the 4 gb of ram fps?

Oh, and only using Intel only.

Well I hope it runs just fine. A 2 GB Ram upgrade to 8 GB Ram is a massive improvement. When I play minecraft on it , the task manager says 70% of memory used. I hope this will work, and if not, then I'll just build a gaming pc soon. It's just that I'm new to building and stuff so I'll take it step by step, from a laptop now. thanks for the answers guys

Ram doesn't really work like that. Ram only increases performance up to some threshold amount where you don't need anymore. The additional performance on your desktop is more likely due to the more powerful cpu/gpu.

Well theres this option in minecraft where I can give it dedicate ram from the javascript tools. If it still sucks, then oh well.
