Howdy,

I'm running a GTX 770 for my PC. What is the best options for upgrade?

Reasons why I want to upgrade:

- It runs hot. My room heated up when playing game, so I'm looking something more power efficient.

- My build is miniITX, and the 770 makes internal temp rise really quick despite of I have an relatively good airflow case. I'd opt for reference blower design.

Is 970 a viable upgrade?

Note: I need to dual boot Linux for school work, and Nvidia driver has been great. How is AMD driver for linux?

How much money have you got because a Fury X would be perfect for a small build.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Under $400. I'm waiting around year end to take advantage of black fryday sales.

How's AMD driver support for Linux?

Not to sure about amd's driver support but I don't think that the 900 series from Nvidia is supported on linux yet.

Nvidias 900 series is supported.

I do not need a good support, a working driver that display correct resolution is fine.

I had bad time when I helped my friend with his AMD card running Linux.

Well, It does not run hot. My temp rarely reaches over 70C.

Just the heat output is not that great. I have small room and it makes me sweat while gaming..  :D

For 400 USD the best option right now is get a 980 used on eBay. But the Mini ITX is an issue because idk if  a 980 will fit.

I don't think it's worth waiting until the end of the year for price drops because you can find the same savings on eBay.

brb waiting 5 months till black friday for 100 (maybe) dollar savings.
