Project Details

Hello LinusTechTips forum and Kickstarter community. I have always wanted to do PC Modding for a long time. This idea was developed over a year since i got my first Gaming Rig (Specs in Sig)

I wanted to make my rig look nice, but without compromise. After drafting in several ideas, i came up with the idea for an Arduino system when i first saw demos on display at a student event in Birmingham. Inexpensive and more advanced compared to other solutions, the Arduino (and similar micro-controllers) are a cost effective way to go beyond the sky's limits.

I decided to do a Kickstarter instead of doing a one-off as modding is all about the community spirit, and community feedback and recognition. I wanted to share my project with hundreds of people around the globe, so they could not only provide feedback but get one for themselves.

Will you be selling these Kits after the Kickstarter is over?

We have started to investigate possibilities of this. KustomPCs.co.uk has kindly offered to sell them there. I also am planning to give them to people on the forum (on request) If they would like.

When it the ETA for recieving mod kits?

Hopefully by the end of August

Is there a specific piece of software that you need to use to make it function

No! That is the beauty of Arduino. However, we will be bundling and installing the driver on the Arduinos for the open-source Audectra software (thanks to the person on the forum who pointed it out) as it provides a solid platform for Arduino lighting, and it is the first time it has been used in a PC as a lighting system

Check them out here and donate if you would like: http://www.audectra.com/

Please feel free to PM me any questions and i will update this thread accordingly

Any and all updates will be posted on this thread

Thanks to everyone who has had an interest in this project. It has been a blast planning it, and i am sure it will be a very rewarding and engaging experience during and after the project is complete

Kind Regards

Asim

Project founder and co-manager

I currently have a custom lighting setup using Audectra and I love it. This sounds like a great idea for those who don't have the ability to do this on their own.

Yep, want to bring new ideas to the community, hence why i am using it IN a PC

I didn't realize that using it in the in the PC was a new idea. Premade kits are a new idea though.

Well using an Arduino for this purpose is a new idea, even though there are ones with remote controls
