You probably could, but you're still going to need case fans to move the hot stagnant air out of the case.

Probably better off just getting a small cooler with a quiet fan.

any particular reason you want to passively cool it? 'cause chances are the case fans, or GPU fans will make more noise than the CPU's

Hi guys,do you think that its possible to cool the i3 without a fan? And if it is,which cooler do you recommend me? has anyone tried something similar?

It's only a 54 watt processot. As long as you don't OC, passive cooling is no problem. just make sure the heat can escape from the case.

Cooler that should work: Zalman FX-70, Nofan CR-80 or CR-95 (blocks first PCI-E slot), Silentmaxx Twinn-Block (not the Big-Block)

I cool a i7-4790k passive, look at my rig. But 54 watts is also possible with an of the shelf cooler.

EDIT: You can also consider buying something like the FC8 Alpha Fanless Chassis, and make a fulll passive PC.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil
