Thermaltake BlacX eSATA USB Docking Station

After watching the "Handy Tech Under $100 episode 8" and seeing the docking station I was a bit curious to see if anyone  has any experience with this, or other docking stations.

The reason why it sparked my interest; I have a WD external 2GB USB HD that no longer works via USB. I'm not sure it's the USB port that's fried or the HD itself is corrupt.

So my question is, how does the BlacXe/docking stations handle potentially corrupted drives?
