Anyone have the Corsair RM xxx?

cheeze_tartz

Anyone have the Corsair RM xxx? How is it? I'm planning to use it for my "silent build". I know I can get a fanless PSU but there's a good deal on the RM 650w on Amazon. I know i am posting a lot of PSU topics

I have the RM 750, despite what people say (That it's not the greatest quality) I find it extremely good and reliable and silent under a medium work load

I've used the RM750 for two of my friend's builds, not the best PSU but my friend was stubborn on having it. It's actually quite silent. I never witnessed the fan turning out, if it did, it was damn silent.

I have the RM450 in my home server which runs Windows Server 2012R2 with relatively light duties (domain controller, NAS, teamspeak/mumble, minecraft, and a few other odds and ends). Honestly, I couldn't be happier with it. It was expensive for the wattage. But it was basically the only thing at the time that had this kind of efficiency in a nearly silent operation. To be honest, I don't think the fan has ever turned on, but the server doesn't exactly pull much power either.

The 650W is rated much lower by reviews than the 750W.. possible they are from different OEM.

Ive been running an RM850 Watt for just over a year and a half maybe closer to 2 years now. Its been running great with a 4770k @ 4.8ghz and for a good portion of the time a pair of gtx 780 lightning editions @ 1394mhz with +250mhz memory offset, I have yet to see any issues with the supposed "Lack of quality" in the RM lineup

Not really xD Honestly I cant think of a time where I have heard it even when I'm gaming.

I launched up a full load and listened for difference in sound and really couldn't hear it
