I'm two weeks into making an android app for students. Before I go any further, I am making a version for my High School and another for everyone else. The version for my high school will be essentially the same just more customized for our needs.

It is a student planner app who's main purpose will be to remind student of upcoming events and homework and stuff. It will also connect students and teachers together. For example, a teacher has an account and one of their student's has an account. The teacher will be able to send notifications to the student about upcoming events and stuff

I already have a slide show made to demonstrate the progress so far so I'll link that instead of having a bunch of pictures: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1b0EKhnzL9NxgK8hOPZ0OgI1wkpM_onpcryfZlKUjHaY/edit?usp=sharing

Here's the logo our school's version (our school mascot is a falcon)

and the logo for the general user app (I haven't gotten around to refining it yet so keep that in mind)

If anyone has any suggestions for features or any input it will be greatly appreciated

EDIT: Forgot to mention the app is based on material design and if anyone has any comments, hints, or suggestion that would be awesome

No... I'm not ready for my thread to die, not yet.... nooooo......

Reminders of tests and such, maybe a recorder? to record lessons?

Yeah I love material design, but it was such a pain to get it to look like that. It took me a week to code the java and xml for the functionality then a another week devoted entirely to make the user interface look nice.  In my experience, it's easy to make something, but it's hard to make it pretty and intuitive to use.

Also I like the friends list idea a lot. I didn't think of that

You could create a shared notes section. So if you have group projects, or someone is absent, the notes can be shared with everyone.

That along with the friends list would be cool to have.

If anyone has a suggestion on how it should look especially! I've got an idea for a friends list. I would have a search bar and you could enter the name your looking for then click something to add them as your friend.

The hardest part by far is designing how it should look and how specifically the features will work. As long as I know specifically what I need to do, coding it in is easy. So if anyone has any suggestions on how they think they would like things, I would really appreciate it.
