Assassins creed 3 gtx 970 Boston low fps?

smeek14

Hey guys so I recently installed assassins creed 3 on my desktop and I am getting low fps.  Everything was at 60 at first but when I got to Boston the fps dropped to 30.  I have updated my drivers.  It seems that others have had this issue.

specs:

MSI gtx 970 oc

i5 4590

asrock motherboard

1tb harddrive

8 gb ram

This is totally normal, Its an unoptomised POS. I have two 290x's and can barely run it at med when you hit Boston, beforehand it worked fine and then NOPE.

Nothing can be done about it except tone the graphics down :(

I have heard that all ubisoft games accept for the far cry series are badly optimized.  What games are WELL optimized?  I need some of those xD

It seems to stay at 59 or 60 (because of v sync) about 60 percent of the time.  The other 40 percent it drops lower into the fifties and sometimes the forties.  This is mostly in Boston but it happens sometimes in the frontier as well.  But not in the forties like in Boston but lower into the fifties.

People have some kind of weird fetish for talking shit about Ubisoft. Ubisoft games are not all badly optimised (It was really just Unity that was a mess), for ports they are mostly pretty decent. Far Cry 4 wasn't that well optimised btw...

Also, I got 60fps on high AC3 with a GTX 680 when I played it so idk what's going on with you atm.

Sounds like it could just be a HDD problem. Hard Drive might be slow in general, I am not sure as I haven't used a HDD for years. I played AC3 on a SSD.

Interesting... never heard that hard drives can impact performance.

They can if it is running particularly slow or if you run out of memory.
