Hey guys I'm wondering if there is any point in getting this first setup.

Setup 1

2x 128GB SSD in Raid 0  (for operating System)

2x 512GB SSD in Raid 0 (For Games and everything else)

          OR

Setup 2

2x 512G SSD in Raid 0   (for everything)

If your one of your SSDs for the OS fail, you'll still have your games and personal files. However, bearing in mind(as I kinda stated earlier), if one of your drives dies in that particular RAID 0 array, your data is lost.

You could just do 1 128gig for os and 2x 512 for games

CPU: i5-4690K @ 4.0GHz GPU: Gigabyte Gtx 970 WindForce MOBO: Gigabyte Z97 Gaming-3 CASE: Corsair Carbide 200R PSU: Corsair RM750

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GBx4  MOUSE: CM Mizar KEYBOARD: Logitec G110

What would you recommend I do. I wont have anything important on this rig just using it for gaming. Also if anyone knows I have an old OCZ vertex II 128GB, so going from this to my new build using the Samsung 850 pro series how much faster will it be? Because I'm wondering if maybe I should go the first setup route and have the 128GB setup in raid 1 instead of raid 0 just for caution I guess.

Buy one SSD for your OS and programs and one hard drive for all other data.

Motherboard: AsRock Z97 PRO4   PSU: Corsair 600W CX600M       Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate   SSD: Intel 120GB 520   Headset: HyperX Cloud II

RAM: 12GB Crucial Ballistix            Case: Corsair 750D                       Mouse: Logitech G502                         HDD: Seagate 1TB        Speakers: Audioengine A5+

Games with lots of loading screens like WoW , Farcry 4, Shadow of Mordor. The SSD's help a bunch.

The. I would recommend just 1 SSD for boot and 2 in raid for games

You know that guy that games on a MacBook? I'm that guy.

There is no real advantage to having ssd's in raid. In fact most benchmarks show real world use to be better for a single larger drive.

So, if you can afford two 512G ssd's then I would get one for the OS and a few games/programs that might benefit from it, and a normal HDD for everything else.
