The 200mm fan in my Coolermaster CM Storm Enforcer occasionally emits these, not whiny, but highly irritating grinding noise. It does this particularly at higher rpms, around 800rpm, and I am not sure how long it has been doing this and what exactly it means. To me, it seems like the bearing (it is a stock case fan, thus sleeve bearing) is going, or it's lubricant is running out. However, I am unsure because the sound can come and go, and although not very loud, it is perceivable if listening closely without having my headset on.

I've noticed this "issue" for around two months. I am not sure if it always had it's "grinding" sound, because it can be very faint, and does fluctuate as it does not always appear. What exactly is happening?
