So I got Aida64 and started running stress tests on my computer. I have an i7 5820k, and it seemed no temps got above 63 degrees celcius (without an overclock) when my cpu was at a 100%

So my question is, would I be okay to overclock?

Or better question, are my cpu temps okay? The last thing i want to do is break a component, as this is my first time overclocking.

Also, my goal is to overclock my cpu to 4.2GHz instead of it's base which is at about 3.3GHz

My cpu cooler is a h100i GTX.

Any tips when overclocking, or helpful advice is appreciated!

Will do

If your board has TPU and EPU switches, disable them.

Don't use software, do it all in the BIOS.

This, use UEFI not software.

As for your system, 63°c at full load is fine to continue. Use 80°c as a Max temperature, adjust the Vcore and multiplier a little at a time, stress, rinse and repeat until you hit the wall.
