Quickfire Rapid or Ducky Zero?

Hey guys, here with a question!

I ordered a Quickfire Rapid with Blues on this Amazon sale I stumbled across for $55, but the USB port died within days of delivery.

The original plan was to get it replaced by either Amazon or CM Storm (whichever replies first), but since then I've found the Ducky Zero for $75.

I've only heard awesome things about Ducky keyboards, so now I'm thinking about just sending the Quickfire back and getting it refunded.

I wanted to get your opinions on whether it's worth the extra 20-ish bucks to return the Quickfire for the Ducky. I don't really care either way for 10keyless, but the Ducky has a matte case instead of the rubberized one that I was iffy about, as well as a non-removable USB cable. Decisions...

Anyway, thanks for any replies!

I would just get your keyboard replaced by amazon, that's the easiest route.

The Quickfire is an excellent keyboard you shouldn't have any more trouble with it.

Depends. Both are excellent keyboards. If you like the ducky, and are willing to spend the extra money on it, go for it. Matte keyboards, in my opinion, are awesome.

Dunno where you live or if you're into the larger mechanical keyboards, but Microcenter has the Mech5 for $79... I'm sure NCIX or Amazon or whoever would probably price match if you asked nicely. Its a bigger keyboard that can convert to 10keyless but also can have a 10key attached. Its pretty good for an $80 keyboard... But it uses Black switches I believe.

Linus video here :

I just did about 5 hours worth of research yesterday on purchasing a mechanical keyboard. Ended up with a rather pricy Aivia Osmium at $129, but it was worth every penny.

Cheers!

Does anyone know which has the better build quality of the two?
While I was at Microcenter earlier today i played with a ducky (it was a DK9008-G2), not a zero, and the CM STORM, and the ducky felt a lot more solid. The CM storm was also really solid, but if I had to pick one of the two to fight off a hoarde of zombies with, I'd go with the ducky. I'd assume the build quality would be roughly the same for the entire brand...

What I'd do, if I were you, If you can afford it, is to just order the ducky, and wait to return the CM storm until you test out the ducky. If you like the storm better, return the ducky and exchange the storm. If not, just return the ducky. Sure, you're out a little bit for shipping but whats like $8 to the piece of mind knowing you picked the right one? You can also think of it as if you have to pay for the shipping, you're going with the cheaper one anyway. If you like the ducky you don't have to pay for return shipping since it was defective. So you cant really lose!

Ducky Zero and the CM Quickfire Rapid are both very good keyboards. So its basically your decision if your want a removable cable or a num pad. I think the Ducky Zero has volume controls and a calculator button and windows key lock and the Quickfire Rapid has media controls, volume controls, and windows key lock.

Qfr Rapids don't use cherry stabilizers so they can squeak rather obnoxiously :( trust me i'm using one right not. it can be fixed with some plastic safe synthetic lube like: white lithium grease, but that's a big inconvenience.

Other than that it's a solid keyboard. If it was me i'd go the ducky
