As stated above a Megabit is not equal to a Megabyte. So your scale 3.5 (megabit)/s is ~440kb/s. 7(megabit)/s =875kb/s. There is 8 megabits in 1 megabyte.
@Mandrew be careful of your abbreviations. mb is NOT equal to MB. There are 1024kb in 1 MB(Megabyte). The correct abbreviations for Megabit and Megabyte are Mb(megabit) and MB (Megabyte).
