I just recently installed a new motherboard (msi z97 gaming 5), and upon looking at the BIOS, I saw that the default option was Legacy and UEFI. The other option was just UEFI. I never knew you can use legacy and UEFI at the same time... Would I be okay with this, or should I just reinstall Windows with just UEFI?

Depends on what Windows.

7 needs Legacy BIOS support enabled, 8+ you should install using UEFI only.

7 can work with just UEFI

Nope it can't. It will get as far as the HDD Format page then it will spit out an error about inaccessible drive bla bla.

7 has UEFI boot support on the disc but for some bizaar reason the setup routine doesn't support it. Have personally tested Win 7 SP2 (Nope i mean SP1) and my finding were verified by @GoodBytes

This might be a silly question, but how did you get SP2 for Windows 7? I'm still on SP1, and windows update says my computer is up to date, minus a bunch of optional updates.

There is no Windows 7 SP2. Microsoft discontinued Service Pack's after Windows 7 was released.

They release a big update that resembles a half (if you want to call it that) or a mini, if you will, Service Pack like update, via Windows Update, which is probably already installed on your system.
