I'd say that 3TB is the bang for buck sweet spot. Use PCpartpicker (your location's version of course) to find the best $/GB hard drive that meets your requirements.

Probably one of these two. The 3TB is best for price/GB though.

Well either Seagate Barracuda or WD blue (or black, but that's not much bang for a substantial amount of buck)

Both well regarded and high quality

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

Except that WD Blue is 1TB max so there is not really that much to choose from. I would say Seagate Barracuda 3TB since the 3TB WD Green is slow and WD Black is expensive and WD Red is not really meant to run outside of NAS.
