I just got a ton of new hardware including a x99 pro usb 3.1, and intel 5820k, 16gb of ram running at 2666mhz, and a new psu. I'm having concerns with unusual lag and odd amounts of screen tearing. (I literally just installed the new hardware), especially on high quality videos, which are really the only things i have done so far. I think maybe I'm missing out on drivers? I'm not sure. And also, for some reason it won't register that i have an ethernet cable plugged in. Just nothing happens. Any help is appreciated!

You need to install the network drivers for it to register that there is an ethernet cable plugged in, download them on another computer, put em on a flash drive, move em to the new pc (Or use the ones on the mobo disk if you have a disk drive, then just update them when you have an internet connection on there)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

If the wifi works, then yes.
