PSU dead?

Ok so earlier today my computer randomly shut down and I got the error Kernal-power. Anyone fast forward a little later I turned on pc and then it worked for about 10 mins then shut down again, and now every time I turn on PC it turns on for about 10 seconds then shuts off. I plugged my psu in another power outlet and my PC ran for about 10 minutes again then shut down. Now I have the same problem as before starts up for about 10 seconds then shuts down. I'm guessing it's the PSU right, and I'm also guessing that I'm going to have to RMA it as well :/

It's been a long day. Also I have a RM 1000w PSU that I have had for about one month

I have the same PSU with no problems.

You might have gotten a bad unit, but i would try plugging in a different PSU to be sure that it's the problem.

Test on a different system, and if the same error then a faulty unit.  Dead means no power by the way.

I don't have a different anything to try

Okay, that sounds more like the BIOS corrupted.  That's if everything is plugged in correctly.

but earlier today everytime it would boot it worked fine then my entire computer shut down

The computer can shut down if there isn't certain or enough activity going on through the whole system.  If the PSU was dead you'd get no power at all.  The error you got can be caused by numerous things.  Give this a read, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/kernel-power/29e3aeb1-3bd6-48c9-936e-483fbea7457e

just took out gpu booted into windows

So, the GPU or the GPU driver was the issue.  What GPU is it?

R9 295x2, but I just booted in with it. i have no idea what is the problem

Probably a driver issue.  Uninstall AMD's CCC sw.  In MS's uninstall it will be AMD Catalyst Install Manager.  Uninstall, and reboot.  See if that works.

It can't be because computer just shut off with no gpu inside
