Is it possible to clone a hard drive and place it in a completly different system and the OS will still be able to boot properly? Thinking about building a new system soon.

its not good practice and slows down your entire system

 

take the time and effort to do a proper clean install, it sounds like you havent done one in a while

people should be doing one every 2-3 years
