I Purchased a GTX 750TI to replace the stock motherboard graphics card in

my computer, the results were very satisfactory, but i wanted more..

So i went out and bought a brand new GTX 970 SSC 2.0+ ACX thinking I would get even more performance. To my dissatisfaction i got sub  100 fps in a game like CSGO and mid 100's in Minecraft.

My Idea is that I have the common case of CPU bottleneck but i want someone else's opinion on the situation

My PC specs are :

GPU - Nvidea GTX 970 SSC 2.0+ ACX

CPU - AMD A8 5500 APU (This is what i believe the source of the problem is)

HDD - WD green 1 TB

SSD - intel 530 240Gb

PSU - Corsair cx750

RAm - 12 Gb 1600Mz

Any help would be very nice to have and thank you to whoever helps me out ;)
