Problems with my mouse, help needed!

Go to solution Solved by ZetZet,

Check the cable near the mouse. Wiggle it, if it disconnects while wiggling or pushing or pulling the cable is going off.

Hi all,

Currently, I own an Alienware TactX mouse. It has worked well for the past couple of years, but I've run into a problem...

Ocasionally (Every 20 minutes or so), my mouse decides to "unplug" itself. I hear the Windows unplugged noise, and the lights turn off on my mouse. After about 10 seconds or so it turns back on and keeps working.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've tried different USB ports and blowing out dust from the connector. The only conclusion I can come to is that there is something wrong with the male end of the USB on the mouse.

Hopefully I can get it fixed, I hate using those mini mice you get from Christmas Crackers!

Thanks,

Maybe it's a good idea to get a new mouse...

If you want you can solder a new plug on it.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Yep, that's exactly what happened.

I guess I need a new mouse. Annoying since I ordered a new Keyboard 3 days ago!

One possible fix for that you can do is open the mouse and try to push the cable deeper inside, so that it doesn't wiggle in the exact same place.

Just try to not ruin the feet while taking them off, use a thin object to slowly peel them off.
