I backed up my all my pc's files onto a new hard drive with windows backup system because I needed to change my motherboard over and I didn't want to go through all the game downloads again (Slow internet). The motherboard swap went fine and a fresh copy of Windows 7 is installed, the problem is when I try to restore the back up through windows back up/restore system it only restores about 10% of my files. The back up hard drive shows it is nearly full with all of my files yet I can't restore the files to my empty drive nor can I access any of the files on the back up hard drive as they don't show up, despite it showing that it is almost as full as my main drive was before the fresh install.

from the picture ,i can see the new hard drive is totally full, i think maybe the way of your backup is wrong, so it is advisable to you see incremental backup, full backup and differential backup. as i know full backup mainly has two disadvantages. On one hand, it would cost more time. On the other hand, the image file of full backup requires more storage space. There isn't any way to remove the reduplicative data but to delete the image file of the last full backup. so you can choice differential or incremental backup.
