Massive Storage?

Go to solution Solved by 1Scotty1,

I was in the same position as you until recently - I had two 1TB WD greens and one 2TB WD green + DVD drive + SSD and I simply wanted to have less cable clutter in my case, so I sold the WD greens and bought one 4TB WD Red - no regrets :)

Well, my actual problem is, i work with game editing and programming and that requires a lot of space in my HD today(with a lot of films, programs etc...), and i "just" have 6 ports sata in my motherboard(MSI x79 GD65 8D), and today i have 6 HD's of 1 TB each(and i only use 3, because i have 1 SSD and 2 DVD), and have 3 HD left, and i need them, what you guys recommend me to do?

buy one of those USB HDD docks and replace all your 1TB drives with 3 5TB hard drives, these drives go into your computer and and the rest of the 1TB drives stay outside and only interface with it using the HDD dock. Also im curious as to why you have 2 DVD drives.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

Hey TheLhent!

You have multiple options, like it was already mentioned, getting a HDD docking station, or USB to SATA adapters, or enclosures, all to use the drives externally. You could also buy other types of enclosures, like a NAS enclosure or DAS enclosure with RAID availability, if you'd like more security for the data. You could also replace some of the DVD bays with the HDDs, depends.

Cheers! :)

If you think I helped, like!  :P
