Laptop Help

Hello Forum!

 

I need a new laptop, and I am a bit unsure of what I should get. I need to get one for around 1000 USD max, and I am going to use it mainly for school and some medium-light gaming. I am hoping for something that is not overly heavy, has a decent battery life (at least 4-5 hours while using the internet or light programs), and has decent storage space (at least 256 GB of space. I am not really concerned on what type of drive it is.), and packs an OK punch in performance. I have checked out the Dell XPS 13 and the Lenovo Y50, and I would gravitate towards something that is closer to the XPS. I would love for any advice you guys have :D
