Has anyone else seen a performance hit in GTA V latest patch

Ok just done a clean install of Nvidia's latest driver, and that appears to have fixed the issue. Very bizarre. I love PC gaming, but its hard to argue with some of my friends when they say that console gaming can be simpler. PCs have a tendancy to go off the deep end sometimes and do their own thing. lol

I have a i5 4670 and a GTX980, playing on a 4k screen. Up until the latest patch (ill gotten gains, i got a steady 30-40 fps) but i've just started the game, post patch, and my game is running at 11fps. Nothing else has changed. I'm so confused.

If you have high resolution shadows enabled, disable them. They kill my 970.

But nothings changed in my settings. They were as they were before. Im trouble shooting at the moment. See how it goes

Maybe they fixed ambient occlusion, before, AO didn't work even if you enabled it in the settings, try disabling it and see if you get similar performance as before.

I've not got it on. Something is very wrong though. The game just chucked a warning at me about going over my GPUs Vram, but ive turned the graphics right down to the point im barely over 2GB and my card had 4GB. Might try doing a verify

 

Update: GPU core clock isnt going about 400mhz. This is weird. Gonna try a Driver refresh

My FPS is fine, I still get 45 fps with grass settings on high with this old ass system lol.

PC Specs   - Black and White Build

    Intel Core i5 4690k MSI Z97S Krait LGA 1150

    Crucial Ballistix Sport 1x8GB 1600MHZ

    Sapphire Radeon R9 270 (Will be upgrading this soon)

I have a thing with my PC where unless I have nvidia drivers up to date it'll CTD every game.
