Yes, overall Cat6 is faster than cat5, but if your network isn't pushing the limits of cat5 I don't see a reason to upgrade to cat6

Overall yes

but cat 5e is used over cat 5 anyway

 

its mostly about insulation

cat 6 goes longer distance and retains speed

and cat 7 is even longer

cat 5e should be fine for you

 

 

All about distance for now after cat 5e

And yes it is legit, that is a 6" cable, not very long, and they usually get you on shipping for prices.

You realize this is a 6 INCH cable (around 15cm) this is very short and almost useless. Cat 5 is rated for up to 100mb/s speeds. It will normally run a 1gbe speeds but not garanteed. Cat 6 is made for 1gbe speeds and can sometime run 10gbe over short distances. If you connection is connected at 1gbe the cable doesn't affect the speed.
