Computer randomly restarts in game and graphical benchmark..

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Here's an update.

I had a friend bring his Powercolor R9 290X to see if the same issue would happen and it did.

During valley benchmark the system restarted.

I ran Prime95 for 1 hour and the system didn't restart.

So good news is that the Motherboard, Cpu, Memory and Gpu are good.

Everything now points to the Psu for now.

Checking the voltage of the 12v Rail on the psu and it was around 12.24v so the 12v rails seem to be working fine because voltage showed it was above 12v.

At the end of the day I just don't understand what's going on and I also installed Windows 8.1 to see if a new OS would fix the issue.

Yep im now 100% sure its your PSU. Return it or replace it :(

So here are the pictures from the event viewer.

3 - post-68968-0-81310500-1433967041_thumb.p

------

So this error keeps causing my computer to restart by it's self.

I ran Prime95 for 30 min and there was no restart. I ran Heaven and it restarted in the middle of the benchmark and Same goes with BF4. In the middle of playing it just restarts.

I also included a 3rd picture of the event log so you guys can see what else is going on.

Not sure what in the hell is going on. So I'm hoping some can help me out there.

Thank you.

@Dive5885 kernel power errors suggest that the PC suddenly lost power.  Do you have another PSU you can test with your system?

What Power supply are you currently using, Crashing when the system in at full load normally points to a power issue.

Ooops just noticed you have your specs in your signature, Yup are you able to test your system with another device?

Does your computer flat turn off or go to a black screen but still stay powered on?

Event 41 can have a lot of causes. I have had issues with it triggering on corrupt memory sectors. is in the past.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

Kernal power loss is a generic error (pull the plug out of your computer and your computer will produce the same error). Sadly it gives us nothing specific to go on :(. I would suggest its likely a PSU issue and you may want to RMA/Return the PSU for another.

Best advice right here.

Best advice right here.

That is hardly the best advice. It could just as easily be a motherboard or RAM issue as PSU. Performing some parts swaps (if possible) or at least doing some Long and thorough tests on the RAM would be the least he should do before initiating an RMA. (unless he is close to his warranty expiration.)

Could be, but I'm willing to bet it's the PSU.

I'm going to run a few more test's and do a few more things in Windows and see if I possibly figure out what's really going on.

I will update the thread later on today!
