Hi guys,

why when i click on chrome's icon in the taskbar it opens another icon, without remaining on the original one? The explorer doesn't... (windows', not internet).

Also, how to change folders' permissions when in the edit section of the security tab in the properties is blocked?

Thank you for your time,

EMENCII

It happens to me sometimes, I just open chrome, unpin the icon and then click on the open chrome on the taskbar and pin that.

Not sure on the second question.

Chrome when it updates sometimes uses a different executable. When this happens you may end up with a second chrome icon. Unpinning and repinning like @Marcus_UK said will fix this. Chrome normally corrects this on its own but sometimes doesn't. If you delete all the previous chrome version folders and repin you should be fine for a while.

As for you permission issue.

Are you the owner of the folder you're trying to change the permission?

It might also be worth checking group policies for quota management and permissions.

Not admin, Owner.

You may be Admin yet system may own the folder. In which case you have to take ownership before you can edit permissions.

To bring up the group policy editor you can either run "gpedit" or its located in C:\Windows\System32\gpedit.msc

Or you can bring up the Microsoft management console and snap the group policy object.

If there is something there preventing it. It would probably be under Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/File System

(Since you're not connected to a domain this is very unlikely)

gpedit.msc

Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/File System

There wasn't the file sys...

But in Security settings/local policies/security options there are many interesting voices, the problem is that i have no idea what they do ^^'

It's alright mine is already broken.

Which folder is it your trying to set permissions on. Also what restrictions are you trying to Apply and why? There may be another way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

what is wrong with the default permissions for these folders. If you take ownership Windows can't update.

Like the fact that i can't save even txt files in there (config stuff) and that programs block theirselves, because they cant access those folders...

Its normal to not be able to edit permissions for those folders. If you change the ownership you will break something. I believe you problem lays somewhere else. Do you have antivirus installed?

this might sound silly but completely disable it and see if things work again.

Well, the installation blocked itself twice and then worked, but even if i disable it nothing changes...
