Another problem that's stumping me...

So after every reboot of my work PC I sit at around 70% memory usage with nothing really open. Do you guys know what could be causing this? This PC has 8GB of ram but can only utilize 6.9GB of it due to iGPU. But I still think sitting at that high of a usage at idle is a lot.

Windows caches your memory. You're not actually using it.

you might have something starting with your computer.
try stopping any startup's you know you don't need.

also try running some malware scan's as you might have some spyware/adware on your pc

try something like JRT, AdwCleaner or malwarebytes

Unused memory is wasted memory, and in order to speed your system up, Windows makes use of the free space to store data which makes your system run faster. When called for, this data is then retrieved from RAM instead of the much-slower HDD. Should you run an application (including games) that require this memory space, then the management routine relinquishes that space and it is made available for your application.

Kaspersky didn't show anything with it's Full scan.

Yeah I know it's not about that, I have 1.5GB cached and 5+ GB in use by processes.

antivirus software can only find what they are programed to find and sadly will not know every threat out there

so it might still be worth giving them a try.

5 tabs. Firefox has always been a pain but it isn't the main problem.

mine likes to sit at 4 gigs used, when I had 16 gigs of ram it sat at 7 gigs used. 

 

I wouldn't worry unless you start to notice issues

svchost.exe has 2gb of committed memory... could that be a problem?
