Hi! I am using Intel i5-4200M cpu with G740m gpu with 1920x1080 resolution (also have intel 4600 gpu) , it is hard for me to get fps on new games. I play battlefield 4 with 1280x1024 resolution to get consistent 60 fps on low, but when i try to record that with shadowplay in 1080p , the footage shows black borders (game also shows it but i deal with it). I think its because am not playing in a 16:9 resolution? If I go up to 1366x768 or 1280x720 the borders become bigger cus of the width, So i am trying to make a custom resolution on my laptop, Will 1280x1080 work with shadowplay and is there any risk for me to use that resolution in game?

The reason you get bars is because it records at 1080p, so the 1280x1024 will be centered in this 1080p recording.

As far as performance, the 740m is not a powerhouse and shouldnt be expected to be one.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

1280x720 should be a proper 16;9 resolution and should scale, your monitor might be messing up the image, try change it to scale to fit then you wont get black bars and stuff

as for performance.. a 740m is pretty weak
