What have been your experiences buying refurbished units? Checking some out on Newegg to save important dollah to feed a 295X2, but if it ends up being equal trouble I might skip it.

This, cause if it ends up DOA or something happens, you will get another one, possibly a new one. :D

depends. If DOA probably a refund. If there is a problem down the line after the 30 day seller refund window Probably a replacement.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

True, but you never know. I bought a refurbished mouse (steel series sensei) 2x on newegg both arrived DOA. They shipped me a brand new mouse the third time. Can't really beat that.

That was a customer service decision and shouldn't be relied on; that said Newegg has pretty good CS

This is true aswell, I'd say go for it, aslong as you don't like waiting a week or two in between if something does happen. Don't take my experience as negative, sometimes the postal service just doesn't handle packages correctly.

yeah it's 1 year parts and service. Aside from the Corsair warranty.  It's 130$ for a 1000 PSU.

From my experience, 90% of refurbished items go wrong again in a short amount of time.

With a PSU you never know what will happen. It may just randomly turn the PC off, but it might as well take out the motherboard, CPU and/or graphics card.

It's the most important part of the PC, I wouldn't cheap out on it.

If you do insist on getting a refurbished unit, make sure that the warranty covers any and all damage it can do to other components.

Get that statement on paper (email could work, but preferably a letter with a proper signature).

Also, a PC with a 295x2 doesn't need a 1000W PSU, the system will most likely stay around or below 700W during benchmarks and will rarely exceed 650 during regular gaming. Something in the 750-850W range should suffice.
