Hey guys,

So I just got a great deal and bought a new custom built x99 pc (5820k, ASUS x99 deluxe etc...) but the problem is the video card. It's only a ASUS gtx 760 (2gb). Now I bought the pc cheap enough that I have some room to upgrade the video card and this is where I get to my question. Should I get a second 760 for about $130 on ebay to Sli them or maybe should I sell the 760 and get a 970 (about 300$ on ebay) or even a 780 (about 225-250 on ebay). I plan on doing video editing and gaming all on my 1440p monitor. From a lot of the benchmarks that I saw, the 970 is slightly better than the 780 and the sli 760 kill the 780. Does this mean the 760's will beat the 970? I understand that the 970 runs cooler and less TDP which can lead to a better overclock but i'd really be stretching on the money side of things to get one. Thanks a lot for the responses and have a good day guys. PS I have a 850Watt platinum psu so sli shouldn't trouble it.

definitely the 970!

always try to go for the best/newest single-GPU you can get. also, newer cards = better support and drivers.

If you have 760 then get another used one if possible

If not then 970

People will always tell you to upgrade to the most recent card and SLI it later even if it is that card they told you to SLI later.
