Okay, come on. i know i've been posting a lot but today i found something cool i wanted to revive.

THE ANCIENT OPTIPLEX 170L

So, does anyone have an idea what to upgrade first, and what to upgrade with? Help would be much appreciated. giving this thing a new home and a new life.

Pc will be mainly used for Medium games, retro gaming, emulating and As a daily driver to replace my current HP POS

No, no, no... I have a similar PC here, in the house, and it's basically used as a door stopper... You can't even game on it (at least anything older than 2005)...

As far as i can see, the best supported CPU by that chipset is Pentium D 960... There isn't much you can do with those parts.... At best i could be used a media PC for your parents/grandparents...

That's a different thing :D You could put a X99 system in there, if you wanted :D

 

I suggest i3 for that build, but go with this new one, with better integrated GPU :D For medium gaming that is almost enough :D

Alright, found a 570 twin frozr II Which is more than enough for my needs, Asus 1156 motherboard and a 2600K.

They're on their way!

That CPU is a beast, but can that GPU even fit... I mean, isn't the height a problem?
