After my last post, I've been convinced not to get the SteelSeries Siberia v2, or Corsair Vengance 2000. I have a blue snowball mic and I'm looking for a new headset. I need to buy the headset from frys.com (hard to explain) Could somebody go on the website and find me a headset with a max of $120.00. Also in-store they match internet prices so if you can find a good headset that they sell for more than $120.00 and look on amazon and they have it cheaper, I can get it for the amazon price. Thank you :)

Edit: I don't have a soundcard

Sony MDRV6 is highly regarded, and sells for less on Amazon. The only thing is the earpads tend to wear out VERY quickly, but Beyerdynamics makes great replacements (assuming it's just the headphones you're getting at Fry's).

Are they good for gaming? and what about music/movies. How much better is the audio than the SteelSeries Siberia v2 headphones? and how noticable is it?

Sennheiser HD280 pro's or Sony MDV6

I am a bit confused though. Both the Corsair 2000 and the SteelSeries Sibiria are headsets. So is it a headset you after or is it headphones?

I suppose headphones. Sorry I am a scrub with this stuff. Headsets have a mic and headphones don't? Right?

Yes, the difference between headphones and a headset, is that a headset have a mic. Some people people don't distinguishe between the two, so things sometimes gets confusing.

And this: I will guarantee you they are better than the SteelSeries Sibiria. And yes, they will be good for gaming. A good pair of headphones will serve you well in nearly everything.

First of all, audio is audio. Gaming audio isn't different from music/movie audio.

Secondly, I don't own the Sony's, but I have owned a V2, so I cannot comment from personal experience (fyi). The most noticeable differences you will ever hear in audio will be determined by the speakers/headphones you use. When I went from crappy audio to the V2's I said "Wow!" When I went from the V2's to real $100 headphones I said "Holy shit!"

The Sony's were the best thing I saw online at Fry's, I say you stick with them.

Thank you. Do the MDV6 sit on my ear or around it? If they sit on it I'm wondering if my ear will get sore... I suppose if my ears do start to get sore it will be a good reminder to get off the computer and actually do something :D

What about the bass on the MDV6? I mean I don't need to it to have a huge amount of base, but a little is nice for listening to music and such.

if I could go even a little bit over 100, what would be the next best thing there?

Yeah, big computer stores don't really carry a huge selection of headphones, but it's good to know you can pick whatever color of Beats you want....

Hahahahaha, I saw these: http://www.frys.com/product/6797595?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Because of their price match I could get them for $107, would they be better?

I prefer to choose what color the k701's are.

those at least sound good and most colors look good.
