Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

I found a usb to 2pin adapter in a cheap laptop cooling pad and plugged it into the usb on the back of the router and to a cougar fan.  it only runs the fan at 5v but its more than enough and dead silent.  I did this because this is the 3rd router in 6 months and all of them smell obscene like offgassing chemicals (cheap crap from century link, i think they're trying to kill us).  first one I exchanged because I figured it was defective.  second one I figure'd it would settle in and fade out.  the smell did but then so did the router after 6 months.
