Go to solution Solved by aLemonNation,

Why not put in the extra money for h100i?

Hello,

I'm Building a new PC and I figured I would post my parts list and see if anybody found any incompatibilities in my new system. Let me know if all the parts seem compatible or incompatible. And if you've built a computer before I would appreciate you stating that.

Thanks

no case?

You're going to need a case to put this all in. And if I were you, I'd bump down that i7 to an i5 4670k and then get yourself a 980 ti if you're going to be doing mostly gaming.

Corsair liquid coolers are crap and Corsair RM power supplies are crap. I suggest you look at a Swiftech H220X cooler and a Seasonic SSR G-550 to SSR G-650 PSU. If you feel you need a higher output look at an EVGA G2 750 or 850.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

4670K? Why not 4690K?

Because it overclocks well (provided you don't completely lose the silicon lottery) and provides similar performance, while the 980 ti will be noticeably faster in games than the 980. Provided you have a high resolution panel. If not, save money and get yourself a 4k panel to accompany that 980/980 ti

The 4690K costs the same and overclocks just as good, if not better?

They're not crap. They're actually pretty good. But there are better options of course for an AIO, and power supplies don't really matter that much to a build so long as they are reliable and can output the right amount. For power supplies, usually I judge based on looks. The new RMi series from Corsair looks really sharp and Corsair power supplies are very reliable, so I'd probably go with one of them in my next build if I was building again.

The 4690k is $100 more.

Edit: Never mind, I was wrong. I was thinking of the 4790k

I would if it wasn't an extra 250 dollars over a 980 and i only have a hundred bucks of wiggle room with parts I can move around to fit. Not to mention it still hasnt released yet and I have a deadline for when I can order.

The 980Ti is released?

I have had multiple corsair cooler and I have been running my H105 nearly 24/7 for a year now cooling an overclocked FX 8320 dumping out a ton of heat and my h105 has never failed. You just don't like corsair for what ever reason or you had a faulty product.
