  1. Hello, I recently purchased and set up a new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3, (20TK001FUS) and the battery life has been awful. I had a ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 previously, and the battery life was around 6-7 hours on average. With my new laptop I get around 2-3 hours on average. I had to completely reinstall Windows 10 right from the start in order to get my upgrade to Windows 10 Pro working. I am currently running version 2004. I normally prefer the Windows power slider (Lenovo Intelligent Cooling) to be in the middle (Better Performance) while plugged in, and just left of cent
  2. Hello, Is the ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQ monitor G-SYNC compatible? If so, does the G-SYNC functionality work correctly/well? Thank You
  3. Hello, I have an ASUS ROG GU502GV and the pop-ups that come up when changing fan profiles and AURA lighting no longer show when using the keyboard shortcuts. I have tried completely uninstalling (with Revo Uninstaller) Armoury crate and ROGLiveService; I then reinstalled them following the instructions shown here: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1037674/. I just like having those pop-ups as it lets me know which profile I have switched to when Armoury Crate isn't open. Any ideas or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. Thank You
  4. I already have a dedicated desktop computer. That being said most of my work these days has to be done while I am on the go. Hence the need for something portable and powerful. I do a lot of work with the Adobe and Autodesk suites and when it comes to games I like playing TF2, LOL, Borderlands, Far Cry, Battlefield, Witcher, etc.
  5. Hello, I am looking for a new laptop and recently I have been looking at Lenovo laptops in particular. I need a laptop that works both as a gaming machine and as a workstation. I like what Lenovo offers as far as their Thinkpad line (design, features, etc.); that being said I don't know how well these devices will stack up as gaming machines. Are there any Lenovo laptops in their Thinkpad line that would be sufficient for gaming (performance comparable to an RTX 2060 or GTX 1070)? Thank You
  6. The budget max is $2000 and a minimum spec of RTX 2060/GTX 1070.
  7. Hello, Does anybody have any recommendations for a current or next gen 15" or 17" gaming laptop that still has a numpad? Thanks
  8. Hello, Recently my driver update software updated my wireless network adapter driver to "Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160 MHz," and ever since my internet access through WiFi has been slow, and each time I turn the laptop on it forgets the wireless network. For whatever reason the driver data was removed so I can't roll it back to "Intel Wireless-AC 9560" through the device manager. Does anybody have a clue how to fix this? Windows update and Intel PROset Wireless/Software and Drivers seem to just continually reinstall the (I'm assuming corrupt) "Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160 MHz" driver.
  9. Hello, I'm in the market for a new laptop and I decided on the ASUS Zephyrus S. However I was looking to grab the lower spec version with the GTX 1060 (GX531GM). However, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Has it released yet? Is it temporarily sold out? Any info you have would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Hello, I have been looking for a new modem and router for my new residence. I am getting Xfinity 150 mbps download. I was thinking of purchasing the NETGEAR CM600 (24x8) DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem and the NETGEAR R6700 Nighthawk AC1750 Dual Band Smart WiFi Router. Are these products going to work well together? Is there going to be any substantial bottleneck anywhere? Will these products last fairly long? I do a lot of gaming on PC and will have people playing on Wifi, will these suffice? Will these be okay as far as ping and latency are concerned (yes, I know it has more to do with the conne
  11. Hello, I was planning on purchasing a pair of Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf Speakers and plugging them into my FiiO E10K USB DAC. My headphones are plugged into the primary 3.5 mm headphone jack and the speakers would be plugged into the secondary. Is there some way I could add an in-line on/off switch so I could turn them on/off without having to reach around in the back. The reason being is sometimes I want audio coming just through my headphones and not my speakers. Thank You
  12. Update: I tried creating custom profiles in RivaTuner so that it would work with the .exe files for the respective games. Unfortunately it didn't work. I also just updated my graphics driver.
  13. Hello, I am using the MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner combo for my in-game on screen display (OSD). For whatever reason the OSD simply does not work whenever I launch a game directly from Steam like Team Fortress 2 or Torchlight 2. However, games that launch from other applications like Origin or My.com still work. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have attached photos of my MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner settings. Thank You
  14. I am running Windows 10 version 1803 Build 17134. I have another just general ThrottleStop question. I undervolted my laptop enough that not only did it simply stop throttling but also enough so that it also significantly reduced the maximum turbo boost frequency of the cpu. Does the option on the main window "Disable Turbo" do the same thing?
  15. Also it seems to always keep windows from shutting down or restarting. I have to manually exit out of it in order for my laptop to shut down or restart. How do I fix this too?
  16. Hello, I have recently used ThrottleStop to undervolt my new laptop cpu. It works great. But I'm curious, how do I get it to start on boot up and more importantly how do I get it to minimize on startup to the system tray. There is a setting to minimize it to the taskbar but I was hoping to have it just in the system tray. Thanks
  17. Why is it a toaster? And by LM are you referring to Lenovo?
  18. Hello, I recently purchased an ASUS GL703GS Gaming Laptop. It performs great in all my AAA titles at high settings. I always get at least 115-150 FPS. However the computer sounds like a jet fighter from the fans when in these games. While the temperatures stay within range they are on the high end. I was thinking I could download and install GPU Tweak 2 and use it to turn down the clock speed for the GTX 1070. I am willing to sacrifice some frames in the hopes that it will run cooler and more quiet. Is this something I can do with a laptop GPU? Is this a bad idea? Will my idea actu
  19. I was able to boot in safe mode, I backed up important files and data on an external storage device. Where do I go from here?
  20. Hello, I went to power on my custom PC and it showed the ASUS logo/bios screen, then it showed the Windows logo and the spinning loading icon. I have been stuck on the spinning icon for a while, the windows logo is no longer on screen. My motherboard has a Q_Code LED indicator and it currently reads AO. I am assuming that there is really nothing I can do. I plan to just wait and hope that it resolves itself with enough time. Is that the right thing to do? Is this a serious problem? Below are the specs for my custom PC should it help. Thank You Component List
  21. Also, to answer an earlier question, the CPU would get as high as 87 degrees Celsius, but only on very rare occasions and there has been no evidence that they were in some way related to the blue screens.
