I want to watch a BUNCH of shows but I need to know which I should watch before others and which I should avoid. Here's a list:

American Horror Story

Fargo

One Piece

Outlander

Archer

Arrow

South Park

Sherlock

Doctor Who

Breaking Bad

Once Upon a Time

The Vampire Diaries

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

Well the only two I've seen are one piece and south park. If you want to watch one piece, then make sure you don't see the 4kids version. Also, its mostly just plain fighting for quite awhile, and doesn't expand on the world until quite a bit later.

nah... just 700. Also one more thing, I wouldn't watch the dub version, as it has half the episodes and you can't really transfer well. The Japanese people in it sound very similar, so you need to get used to it over time.

What to Watch Now:

ANIME!

Anime-Cat-GIF.gif

What to Watch Later:

MAOR ANIME!

Yeah! so many good anime like boku no pico, aki-sora, kiss x sis, and kanokon!

out of those, I would vote for Doctor who, but only up to Tennant, and South Park, but only the seasons that have Chef in them.

Its funny because I have seen all but one of those shows...

For an actual recommendation, code geass is by far the best anime I've seen. It is slightly like death note, but has much better pacing, a better protagonist, mech battles, and is just plain better is so many other ways. It is one of my three 10/10 anime.

Fringe

Outlander (only below Fringe because it's only the first season that's out. We've got at least....8 or 9 more seasons to go. Unless they fuck it all up and seriously piss me and a few million other people off)

Sherlock (but only if it's the BBC version......who am I kidding, of course it is)

Dr. Who (starting with  Eccleston, who portrayed a terrific doctor, but left because he's an idiot in real life)

Archer

Breaking Bad

South Park

The shows you forgot:

Dragonball Z (Saiyan to buu series)

Cowboy Bebop

Big-O

Trigun

Personal opinion: the rest is just crap. Especially American Horror Story. (gore and depressing stuff, does not a horror make)

(bring the hate, the rest of those shows are absolute shit, deal with it )

The plot of Outlander sounds a bit ridiculous to be honest.

The plot of Outlander sounds a bit ridiculous to be honest.

It's not when you actually want it. Don't read too much into it, because the whole

Time travel, stuck in the past thing

Isn't the main point of the story. The story doesn't have a moral or a point per-se, It's just supposed to be, as the British would say, a "ripping good yarn". At heart it's a love story. I don't read many books compared to some, but I've read

The entire LOTR including the Silmarillion

The Space Odyssey series (the entire thing....long series

The entire Hatchet series (you can't call yourself well read if you don't know what this is, and shame on you)

Enders Game (not really my kind of thing, but a friend suggested it....it was okay)

A wrinkle in time (need to re-read it, as I read it when I was a child and don't remember it completely)

Lord of the flies (I was force to read it in school, whoever wrote that........god-awful piece of crap should be burned alive)

The entire Harry Potter series......more times than I can count (had to do some assigned reading for like, 2 years in school, just kept re-reading them because hey, why not)

The Vampire Lestat series (.....mixed feelings about this one. Love the story, HATE her writing style)

Currently on my "must read" list:

The DUNE series

....every star wars book (got A HELL OF A LOT of reading to do)

.....that's all I can think of at the moment.

And out of all of that, the Outlander series ranks above and beyond all of them. I feel like I know the characters, like I've lived another life with them, I've laughed, loved, and cried with them. If I had to choose one book series to read the rest of my life and nothing else, it would be the Outlander series.

It's worth noting, that Outlander wasn't written with a specific genre in mind, which is why it defies genre completely (it really does). It was written by Diana Gabaldon simply as a means to learn how to write a book, and a friend of hers told her it was damned good, which is an understatement.

Thanks for the clarification. I just had a look, and Outlander is already available with german audio, so I'll give it a shot next weekend

I recommend reading it first. The show is excellent, the single best book to screen adaptation I've ever seen, but it's still not even close to how good the books are. Which is not a statement about the show, but about how fucking good the books are.

They start slow, and the second book will confuse you momentarily as the first book is written entirely first person, and then the rest of the books move between first person (Claire's point of view) in some chapters and third person omniscient (other characters point of view) in other chapters.

Still, it belongs on the list of "things to read before I die, multiple times" of anyone who loves reading like I do. And I'm a VERY discerning reader as I have SEVERE ADD. The way I know a book is good, is if I completely lose myself in reading it. When I'm in the zone and reading, you can speak to me and I just....don't hear you. You would have to physically interact with me to get my attention, or break my line of sight.

BAH! you youngins and your not reading a physical book. FOR SHAME!

Nothing like the feel of worn pages and leather binding in your hands. I was lucky with the Silmarillion as a friend let me borrow it, and his was an EXTREMELY rare, leather bound, gilded edges version of it. Felt like reading some ancient tome (as it should)

Seriously though, if you're like me, and pick up a book and can't put it down, Outlander will EAT your life away. I picked it up in high school and got sent to the principles office more than once for reading it during class. The principle just looked at how big the book was and said "do your assignments, Go sit in the office till next period and read quietly" lol

Yeah I can't read ebooks or listen to audiobooks. Just so boring compared to having a real book.

I also prefer the feel of books, but I've also got a daily commute of an hour and a half and I can't read a book in my car. I would have gone mad if I wouldn't have something to entertain me.
