I am in the final stages of planning and buying all the parts for my loop and the only thing now outstanding is the drainage mechanism. I only have 1 output from my pump that can provide any assisted pressure (the rest would rely on gravity) so I wanted an inline solution right next to the pump to keep things as clean as possible (and an inline quick disconnect isn't possible as I am going for a hard line setup). My intention was to install a Y Connector directly to the pump that looks like this:

The downward angled section would then have a quick disconnect attached to it for drainage:

What I then wanted on the straight section would be an isolation valve so I could prevent the liquid travelling around the loop whilst draining it otherwise I will always have water in there. I have seen things like the bitspower valves but quite honestly they look disgusting and far too bulky. In the plumbing world you have isolation valves such as this which would be perfect:

I have been searching for a couple of hours now with no luck and wanted to know if anyone knew if they existed with 1/4" threads specifically for PC watercooling or not?

Thanks in advance.

check out singularity computers on youtube, guy makes amazing custom builds, with hard tubing. and goes really in depth with the fittings he uses. includes easy fill and drainage systems in every build

EDIT : just read the line where you say bitspower valves look gross, woops

Thanks for taking the time to go hunting for it. I have a suspicion it's what I will end up having to use, but I think the slimline one that plumbers have access to would be extremely popular. I might just have to mount the bitspower one with the valve pointing towards the back of the case so it is largeley hidden in the "open" position  :(  :(  :(

Koolance makes thread adapters, so if you can find an isolation valve with the right threading for an adapter that Koolance provides, you may be able to use what you have in mind.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and keep looking for a bit longer then.

I managed to find an old isolation valve that traveled in my toolbox to the US from the UK and measured up. Rather wonderfully the ID is 9/16" and the OD is 13/16" so 1/16" off on both measurements from being able to fit properly.

[/my hopes and dreams]
