New GPU, No Screen Signal

Go to solution Solved by Ty_1000,

For anybody who comes across this thread and is having the same problem, this is how I solved the issue.

Unplug your GPU, restart your computer and enter the BIOS. In the BIOS set your graphics settings from "Auto" to "Integrated GPU" this will make it boot using your intel GPU and not your Nvidia GPU.

From there you are free to plug your Nvidia GPU back in, and restart you computer. The computer will boot using the Intel GPU and you will now be able to go to Nvidia's website and download the latest drivers for you GPU (now that its plugged in you wont get an error because it 'cant find your nvidia card')

once your drivers are up to date, return to the BIOS and reset you graphics options to 'Auto'

Problem solved, at least for me.

Hope this helps.

Hello everybody. I'm hoping somebody here can help me.

I just installed a MSI GTX 970 into my computer, unfortunatly when i went to boot up my computer there was no signal going to my monitor (conected via HDMI) The computer was on, and the GPU was getting power because all the lights on the GPU where on.

Typing this right now I had to unplug the power to my GPU and restart my computer, which then booted up on the intel 4790 integrated GPU, and I now have a signal to my monitor.

Any idea's on what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks You all

Has your BIOS been set to only run off of intergrated graphics? if so, set it to auto, or to dedicated.

That could be a thing, unless you can narrow it down with a spare GPU? maybe try installing it into the second PCIEx16 slot

Hi G33k, I just check the BIOS and it is set to auto.
