Laptop with a metal body

jj9987

Greetings.

A friend of mine is looking for a laptop, but due to his natural ability of occasionally dropping things, she is looking for one with metal body, that should last longer.

Currently one of the options is to buy a second-hand Apple Macbook Pro. But it's Apple.

As for requirements, I look for one with i3 or i5 processor and preferably SSD, but not a definite requirement. 13-14 inch display (1366x768 is most likely enough, but more won't hurt), dedicated graphics is not a must. I'd prefer a laptop from a good brand and in price range of about 500 EUR, if possible (location being Estonia, more or less around 550 USD).

Can't think of more points to bring out. Looking for recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a secondhand Toughbook of some variation?

Something easier/lighter for day-to-day use by a university student :P

I think a haswell MacBook Air would serve her well (anything since 2013 I believe). Great battery life, speedy ssd, cpu, decent gpu. The 13" has a 900p display I believe (16:10).

Yea, she is already looking at Macbooks, though I was wondering if there are cheaper alternatives with Windows.
