Your CPU may cause bottlenecks in certain games.

"It pays to keep an open mind, but not so open your brain falls out." - Carl Sagan.

"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you" - Edward I. Koch

"I didn't die! I performed a tactical reset!" - Apollolol

how will it affect my gaming?

It depends on the games you're playing. In CPU intensive areas, your CPU may cause the 980 to not hit its full potential, either causing frame dips or lower than "normal" frame rates(other than what is caused by the GPU).

Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, GTA 5, Witcher 3, etc. If you plan to play Cities Skyline, you may also see a bottleneck there - I'm not going to tell you what kind of performance you should expect because I don't know for sure - all I'm saying is you might see lower than "normal" frame rates in certain games.

No not those games that much, mostly things like Arma 3 which is really badly optimized so runs bad on most PC's anyway. I would just do the upgrade and feel the POWA!

Favourite Game:
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion -[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_IV:_Oblivion]
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks and the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary, 2K Games. It is the fourth installment in The Elder Scrolls action fantasy video game series, following The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and preceding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Oblivion was first released in March 2006.

so i will get 10 lower fps something in the average range.
