Hi!

First and foremost, It is my mom's iMac, I am a PC person through and through, and I am sorta clueless as it comes to reinstalling OSX.

Ok, So I had to replace a crashed HDD in my mom's iMac, but I don't have the install media discs. I have not been able to find them on the internet.

Can anyone give me a download link for the files? I can put them on a USB or DVD. Direct or i guess torrent is fine.

Thanks in advance!

What year iMac? I mean, it makes little to no difference nowadays (I doubt she's using one of the G4 based ones), but still.

You'll need another mac to create the boot disk, when you download it, it'll download as a .dmg file which is the apple standard for disk image and is unreadable on windows based systems.

Not true.

OP, What is the serial number of the machine?

I'm guessing it's an older model, as replacing the newer models hard drives require some training, and for the super thin ones it requires heat guns and new glue strips.

If it's older, you're going to have to install an older OS.
