So, I've heard a bunch of processor names thrown around, like Hawaii, haswell, broadwell, dandy bridge, etc. Can somebody type up a processor type hierarchy list, for Intel CPUs, AMD CPUs and GPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs? Also, could I get an explanation on how these affect performance? Obviously, today's quad core beats out yesterday's quad core...

EDIT: SANDY BRIDGE

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

The internet supplies all.

Hierarchies do not effect performance, aside from the general trend that new products are more powerful/efficient.

Here's the Wikipedia on Nvidia and their GPUs.

Here's Intels CPUs.

And AMDs CPUs and their GPUs.

Enjoy.
