You can get an 280x/7970 for around 200 $, used on ebay for around 150 $ depending on the model.

Iv seen r9 280s go for $179 CAD at Ncix. What currency are you using?

Yea that would be a good way to go. Or if the price is up on those you could get a r9 270x, or even a 270, cause it's a great bang for the buck.

Apevia power supplies are usually crap, do not buy one at any cost. Are you buying in the US? In Canada?

I am thinking about purchasing the gtx 750 as I'm upgrading my build. Bought a A10 5800k APU the onboard graphics don't cut it anymore and I need a discrete GPU. I also was looking at using Steam in my living room so if you go with an NVIDIA you get the perks of GeForce. AMD does not currently support this feature so it swayed my opinion.

You should be spending more on your GPU.

Do you need peripherals, and what currency.

Then that's not a good build for $1000. My system cost less than that and it has a GTX 970 and a Xeon E3-1231v3.

750W is overkill. A 600W Corsair unit would be more than enough for any single GPU. I personally like XFX usually since they're Seasonic OEM, but there are no killer deals for them right now. Literally today two incredible deals look like they just expired on EVGA 750W and Antec 620W units for crazy low prices.

That's a killer sub $1000 build. What a killer price on the board.
