Technically you can use as many drives in RAID0 as your motherboard allows you (in terms of ports). All drives in the array will be limited to the speed of the slowest one and to the capacity of the smallest one. 
It is recommended to use NAS/RAID class drives as they have additional features that enable them to work much safer will smaller chances of drive dropouts. 
Having a backup of your data on the array is important as, even though RAID0 provides a huge speed boost, it doesn't provide any redundancy whatsoever and even if one drive fails or drops out, you would lose all the data on the whole array with close to none chances of data recovery.
