Hi guys, I'm from Singapore so my options are quite limited and the prices are much more expensive compared to the US. This PC will just be for children's school work, light web surfing and powerpoint, word etc. No gaming expected. I have a strict budget of $450 so an upgrade to a g3258 or a slightly better Mobo might be possible.

I think the build is good enough though. Can I cut any more corners or is this just fine? Thanks guys :)
The CPU and Mobo is a bundle so I just priced one of it.

CPU Intel Pentium G3240 3.1GHz Dual-Core Processor $175.00
Motherboard MSI B85-G41 PC Mate ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $0.00
Memory Crucial 2GB (1 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $28.00
Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $70.00
Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case $80.00
Power Supply Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $68.00

Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $25.00

Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts     Total $446.00

Get 4 GB of RAM, 2gb will max out instantly and the PC will freeze. Other than that build is k.

Your prices dont make sense. WD Blue 1Tb for $70?
CX 430 for $68?

maybe im missing something.

But for $450 you could get an i3 system

and like everyone else has said, your gonna need 4GB minimum (8gb isnt much more and might fit in your budget)

Ryzen 7 5800X3D , Arctic Liquid Freezer  III , Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite , Corsair Vengeance 32GB , Gigabyte RTX 5070Ti ,  WD SN850 / MP44L

Corsair RM 850x, LIAN LI Lancool 207

Okay looks like lots of people are telling me to get 4gb of ram. I'll probably do that. 4 gb of ram would cost me $50.

Its bundled with the Mobo. So the g2340 plus the mobo is 175. Plus, the case is 80, 1 stick of 2gb ram is 28.

I'm sure you could cut ~$10 off if you go for a less expensive case, this won't impact performance as your parts will run pretty cool anyway. Other than that, it looks great.

Cases wise, I don't have much choice. Maybe a cooler master n200 for $60?

Like I said, the prices here are much much higher. 8gb of ram would be ~$100. Yeap. Believe me I cringe looking at the prices here.
